I hate them only because they never stick for long enough. Since Pam is off working out and that means I know her resolution. I figured I would post mine and see how long I can keep up the resolve this year.
1. Get my spiritual house in order
A. Read bible cover to cover
B. quiet time in prayer everyday for at least a few minutes
C. Get some kind of Devotional together as family at least once a week.
D. Increase IMPACT Volunteerism.
E. try to help as many people as I can.
2. Get my financial house in order
A. Get new job ( accomplished)
B. Pay off unsecured debt.
C. Get mortgage caught up.
D. Increase IMPACT Giving.
3. Write more.
A. Blog
B. my book
4. Languages
A. French
B. Greek
Maybe with me actually writing down my goals I will have a better chance to stick to them everyday.
I've already set my Blog as my home page. I think that will help me write. and stay on my bible reading goal.

Is blogging still cool?
Well since I'm the farthest thing from Cool according to my 14 yr old daughter. I must contradict and pick up the blog once again. I don't think I ever did get serious about it. But the thought was nice. My favorite part is that nobody is listening so does it really matter?

Well at least New Years is one of those resolutions that you don't have to really look up. How did this whole "Happy New Year" thing get started anyway? It may not need an explanation but a definition is in order!
New Year's Day is the first day of the year. On the modern Gregorian calendar, it is celebrated on January 1, as it was also in ancient Rome (though other dates were also used in Rome). In all countries except for Israel using the Gregorian calendar as their main calendar, it is a public holiday, often celebrated with fireworks at the stroke of midnight as the new year starts. January 1 on the Julian calendar corresponds to January 14 on the Gregorian calendar, and it is on that date that followers of some of the Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate the New Year. In Western Christianity New Year's Day, January 1, is the eighth day of Christmas.
Probably observed on March 1 in the old Roman Calendar, New Year's Day was fixed on January 1 by the period of the Late Republic. Some have suggested this occurred in 153 BC, when it was stipulated that the two annual consuls (after whose names the years were identified) entered into office on that day, though no consensus exists on the matter.[3] Dates in March, coinciding with the spring equinox, or commemorating the Annunciation of Jesus, along with a variety of Christian feast dates were used throughout the Middle Ages, though calendars often continued to display the months in columns running from January to December.
Among the 7th century pagans of Flanders and the Netherlands, it was the custom to exchange gifts at the New Year, a pagan custom deplored by Saint Eligius (died 659 or 660), who warned the Flemings and Dutchmen, "(Do not) make vetulas, [little figures of the Old Woman], little deer or iotticos or set tables [for the house-elf, compare Puck] at night or exchange New Year gifts or supply superfluous drinks [another Yule custom]." The quote is from the vita of Eligius written by his companion, Ouen.
Most countries in Western Europe officially adopted January 1 as New Year's Day somewhat before they adopted the Gregorian calendar. In England, the Feast of the Annunciation on 25 March, was the first day of the new year until the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar in 1752. The 25 March date was known as Annunciation Style; the 1 January date was known as Circumcision Style, because this was the date of the Feast of the Circumcision, being the eighth day counting from December 25.[citation needed]

Another Bittersweet move!
Unfortunetly my run at a fresh startup has ended. I simply just ran out of cash. Fortunately it didn't take me very long to land on my feet and once again my network has saved my butt! literally minutes after I posted on LinkedIN that I was looking for work I got a note from a network contact asking me if I would like to interview for a newly opening position at his company! Timing is everything! after interviewing with all the principals (4 interviews) I was hired last Thursday! I will post the official announcement in a bit. If you know me by now you know that I will be contacting you to connect and see if there are any opportunities out there within my network.
