Blogger Confession

I haven't blogged in 6 months. My humblest apologies. I'll catch you up. As you can remember I'm sure you don't. I was laid off in April and I snagged a job at GHA Technologies selling IT. It is a commission only job and it was really tough getting things ramped up. I was made an offer by B2B in July and I accepted and now I at least have a base with the commission to survive off of. I'm very thankful that I didn't burn my bridges when I left in early 09' Ok enough about work for now. Things are kind of trucking along otherwise. I'm attending midweek men's small group at CCC. I'm still attending Men's Small group at Panera on Saturday Mornings. We have moved campuses to Downtown Naperville from the Yellow Box. I still serve at the Yellow Box Kids city and now also serve in DT Naperville location. I'm still working out 3-4 times a week at www.undergroundcorefitness.com.

I will see what I will do with this blog over the next few weeks. I'm gonna ramp it up again. I think. who knows. or I will see you again in six months.

Day 95 Week10 of working out

After a very awesome Easter weekend I have started week 10 of working out. It was a sweat sweat sweat some more work out with high humidity permeating from the outdoors.

It was a good workout, I weighed in at 278 this morning at home. basically about 25 to 30lbs lighter than my highest weight which was last year and about 15 lighter since I started working out this year. I am feeling great. I've started using the larger kettlebells too so I know I'm pushing myself harder each time!

Lots of catch up reading today!

Day 90

I'm so sore from yesterdays and todays workout. I am starting to feel stronger and more capable to push myself a little harder. Today's workout was extra tough. Although, I think I say that after every workout.

I'm caught up on my reading now.

Old Testament Reading
Numbers 29:12-40; Numbers 30; Numbers 31:1-24 NIV

New Testament Reading
Luke 8:19-39 NIV

11"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

I pray for all those people who have been choked by life these past years that they can open their hearts and minds to God's word and produce a crop of abundance!

Psalms Reading
Psalm 39:1-13 NIV

4"Show me, O LORD, my life's end
and the number of my days;
let me know how fleeting is my life.

5 You have made my days a mere handbreadth;
the span of my years is as nothing before you.
Each man's life is but a breath.

This is an interesting part of the story of Moses. The Israelites have been saved by several Miracles. God made himself known to them through a cloud and swallowed Egypt's army in the Red Sea. Yet, when challenged again they all begin to grumble! This is really the hard thing with life. I can say that in my life I was saved miraculously and then new trials came to my life. New challenges that have you crying out to God for help. The mood in the steps and crying out is what I think is important. Using Job as an example. One thing to call out and another thing to gripe!

Happy Valentines Day Pam!

Pam,

Sixteen Years ago was our first Valentines day together. We first knew each other seventeen years and some months ago in 92' but we didn't start dating until the summer of 93. We met at Twentysomethings small group gathering on Tuesdays and began dating officially on the Fourth of July weekend in 93. This of course means that on Dec 31st we will have been married 17 years. This means if I buy you the modern anniversary gift this year it would be furniture. This is a good thing cuz God knows that we need new furniture in a bad way. We have had our share of downs the last few years and getting through it together has been a huge up! I'm excited about the future because it has you in it. When we are together all the craziness around us is so much easier to handle. We have both grown as people over the years. Our hearts and minds have been stretched through the trials of life and we stand better because we survived it all together. For better or for worse. Our love has seen the worse and we are better for it.

I love you Pam more today then ever before.

and health to one's whole body.

23 Above all else, guard your heart,
for everything you do flows from it.

24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
fix your gaze directly before you.

26 Give careful thought to the [a] paths for your feet
and be steadfast in all your ways.

27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

Day 42/365 end of week 4 (one month of working out!)

Honestly, I did not want to get out of bed at 4:30 this morning. My back felt tight and I was telling myself just stay asleep stay in bed. then the alarm went off at 4:45 and I said heck with it. I can workout the tightness.

The workout was killer today but I know I didn't push myself hard enough. I could of and should of done better. still I worked up a good sweat and now one month of working out at www.undergroundcorefitness.com is down. I haven't actually lost any weight yet. But I have reduced by at least two sizes in the upper body. My suit buttons can button. and my neck is down 1/2 a size. I am starting to build the endurance up as well and I feel much stronger than I have in years!

My Goal is fitting into the suits my mom bought me about 9 years ago. (probably another 7-8 sizes down. and getting my neck down to 17 from 18 1/2 (was at 19) I'm thinking a core weight of 225 would be awesome! another sixty pounds to go! I got out of the hospital in 2008 weighting around 265 and got to over 300 by early 2009 and then I just started to watch what I ate and dropped to 285 and that is where I have been for the last month.

And by proving through your own actions that you really love your business, customers, your colluges and employees."

Day 41/365 Day 3 of week 4

EARTHQUAKE this morning. The cat woke me up about ten minutes before the quake and then I couldn't tell what it was. It felt like a big train going by. ( since we live by tracks this is a common occurence. ) But I heard no train. That was the first Quake I have ever felt.

Workout was extra tough and I couldn't make it all the way through when my back got tight on lower right side. I stopped before I did any serious damage to it and stretched with back exercises. I don't usually have back pain but then again if you sum up the last three four years. I don't usually work out.

Then got home to the internet doesn't work. which took 20 minutes on the phone with ATT. the actual tech call was easy cuz I needed help changing my password. this though made me miss my 8am con call. MLK Day

Kids have off today but, I have to go to work.

I actually have a pretty full day scheduled. It's time to get the ball rolling big time!

Todays reading starts with the beginning of Joseph's story and in NT the parable of the sower. (one of my favorites)

This really is one of the most awesome books you can read!

Tomorrow I'm going to go work out in the morning. I sure hope I can get to bed on time tonight

Day 16

Half a month into reading the bible.

One of the top ten events in the OT well at least twenty. Jacob wrestles with God.
Today Jacob meets Esau. Thinking that he is going to get attacked by him but instead he is greeted happily.

Friday, January 15, 2010

Day 14

Jacob takes his wives (daughters of Laban ) and sneaks out and drives his flock/entourage. Not exactly a small undertaking since he was very wealthy and had huge amounts of livestock. Rachel stole her fathers House Gods as they left. When Laban saw them leaving and the stolen house Gods. He chased after them and caught them after 7 days. He searched all the tents and Rebekah had the Gods in her Camel saddle bags which she was sitting on and she asked forgiveness as she lied saying she had her period and couldn't stand up. (LOL!). Laban fell for it. Jacob was angry he was accused but, then the two of them made a covenant not to attack each other and for Jacob to take care of his daughters.

Old Testemant Soap Drama continues tomorrow.

In the NT study Jesus is accused of healing on the Sabbath. His reply is that if your lamb is stuck in a crevice on the sabbath you would go and rescue it. How much more valuable is a man over a lamb? Then he heals a man with a shriveled hand and then the Pharisees start to plot to kill him. (Some drama in NT too!)

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Day 13

I read ahead a little bit too.

The OT Drama Continues as Jacob steals Esau's blessing and then runs off to marry his cousin in fear that Esau will kill him. His Uncle deceives him and marries him into his older daughter Leah and Younger daughter Rachel. Those two have a baby making competition which Rachel initially loses at but she uses her maidservants to catch up.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Day 12

I didn't post yesterday. but I did read.

Genesis covers a ton of ground. Now we are at the point of Abrahams death and Isaac's life.

The birth of Jacob and Esau leads to one of my favorite characters in the bible. Jacob, the sneaky underhanded one talked Esau out of his birthright.

Sunday, January 10, 2010

Day 10

Abraham is rewarded for his faithfulness by God with a son (Isaac). Then Abraham again is rewarded for obeying God's command by willingly almost sacrificing his son. God tells Abraham that his descendants will be more numerous than the stars.

then in the NT reading.

Jesus drives out demons and the town asks him to leave. LOL! Then he heals a paralytic and the Pharisees call him a blasphemer. He preaches to sinners and again the pharisees are annoyed with him. Classic!

Matthew 9:12-13 "On hearing this, Jesus said " it is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means : " I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come for the righteous, but sinners."

Saturday, January 9, 2010

Day 9

Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed in a reign of fire and then Lot is deceived by his daughters so the bloodline can continue. OT is better than Dynasty or Dallas!

Friday, January 8, 2010

Day 8

Wow... Genesis 17 Abraham was circumcised at the age of 90. ouch. A true miracle that he survived if you think of the medical advancements of he day back them. ummm hot sharp knife!

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Day 7

Lots of snow outside starting to fall... very pretty and pretty annoying. LOL!

today we are learning more about Abraham and powerful reading in Matthew 5 and 6. Love they enemies, our father prayer, and you can't serve two masters. (God and money)

and Psalm 6

Do not rebuke me in your anger.

Amen to that!

Wednesday, January 6, 2010

Day 6 of reading

Thank you Dawn Hinton for the wwww.biblica.com link.

Is blogging still cool?

Well since I'm the farthest thing from Cool according to my 14 yr old daughter. I must contradict and pick up the blog once again. I don't think I ever did get serious about it. But the thought was nice. My favorite part is that nobody is listening so does it really matter?

If Man blogs in the woods would anybody notice? ok.. stupid joke reference but what am I to do.

Happy New Year!!!

Well at least New Years is one of those resolutions that you don't have to really look up. How did this whole "Happy New Year" thing get started anyway? It may not need an explanation but a definition is in order!

New Year's Day is the first day of the year. On the modern Gregorian calendar, it is celebrated on January 1, as it was also in ancient Rome (though other dates were also used in Rome). In all countries except for Israel using the Gregorian calendar as their main calendar, it is a public holiday, often celebrated with fireworks at the stroke of midnight as the new year starts. January 1 on the Julian calendar corresponds to January 14 on the Gregorian calendar, and it is on that date that followers of some of the Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate the New Year. In Western Christianity New Year's Day, January 1, is the eighth day of Christmas.

Probably observed on March 1 in the old Roman Calendar, New Year's Day was fixed on January 1 by the period of the Late Republic. Some have suggested this occurred in 153 BC, when it was stipulated that the two annual consuls (after whose names the years were identified) entered into office on that day, though no consensus exists on the matter.[3] Dates in March, coinciding with the spring equinox, or commemorating the Annunciation of Jesus, along with a variety of Christian feast dates were used throughout the Middle Ages, though calendars often continued to display the months in columns running from January to December.

Among the 7th century pagans of Flanders and the Netherlands, it was the custom to exchange gifts at the New Year, a pagan custom deplored by Saint Eligius (died 659 or 660), who warned the Flemings and Dutchmen, "(Do not) make vetulas, [little figures of the Old Woman], little deer or iotticos or set tables [for the house-elf, compare Puck] at night or exchange New Year gifts or supply superfluous drinks [another Yule custom]." The quote is from the vita of Eligius written by his companion, Ouen.

Most countries in Western Europe officially adopted January 1 as New Year's Day somewhat before they adopted the Gregorian calendar. In England, the Feast of the Annunciation on 25 March, was the first day of the new year until the adoption of the Gregorian Calendar in 1752. The 25 March date was known as Annunciation Style; the 1 January date was known as Circumcision Style, because this was the date of the Feast of the Circumcision, being the eighth day counting from December 25.[citation needed]

Thank you wikipidea! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Year%27s_Day

Whatever way you celebrate!!! Happy New Year!!
